The prettiest agricultural museum in the world
Blue Bird Café
My third day in Budapest started with breakfast at Blue Bird Café, which has a super quirky and colorful interior and delicious food. I was dying to take this floor home with me.
Hősök tere
From there, I made my way to the Hősök tere, or Heroes’ Square, which is one of the major squares in Budapest. The sculptural program in the back features the Seven Chieftains of the Magyars who eventually founded Hungary, as well as other important Hungarian national leaders. The square is framed by the Museum of Fine Arts (which was closed while I was in Budapest) and the Műcsarnok, and is situated right in front of the City Park.
Vajdahunyad Castle
The City Park is also host to this beauty, the Vajdahunyad Castle, which holds the Hungarian Agricultural Museum and Library.
Personally not really into Agriculture myself (more power to you if you are!), but it’s still definitely worth it to make the effort to go inside, as the interior is insane.
Műcsarnok
The Műcsarnok is an art hall that hosts temporary exhibits of contemporary art, and it is an institution of the Hungarian Academy of Arts. Originally built for millennium celebrations, it was designed as a Neoclassical style structure by architects Albert Schickedanz and Fülöp Herczog, and completed in 1896, though it was more recently renovated in 1995.
