I started the day right and followed my belly’s craving for benedictine eggs with breakfast at Rabble. This restaurant uses locally sourced produce to prepare its meals, and also has a hotel in the upstairs of the building (this is not where I stayed). The interior is really cute (can you spot the tiny little Christmas decorations?), and the food was absolutely delicious.

I think I may have found my favorite place on Earth. First of all, this bookshop is huge. I was very sad that I had such a limited time slot in which to spend browsing its shelves, I could’ve easily spent a few hours more and not run out of things to see.

They offer complimentary coffee and tea with your visit, are exceedingly lovely at trying to find information on books you may be looking for, and also host events with novelists and authors (I saw signs for a few as I perused their shelves).

The shop opened just last year (2019), and is one of the largest independent bookshops in all of Scotland (if you want to give them some love, due to the present situation now might be a good time).
