Ruins, ruins, and more ruins ✨ The Temple of Venus and Rome is believed to have been the largest temple in Ancient Rome. Visible from the Colosseum (and providing great views of it as well), it was dedicated to Venus Felix, or “Venus the Bringer of Good Fortune,” and Roma Aeterna, or “Eternal Rome.” May this Sunday last forever 🤍 Have a lovely Saturday ✨ Happy Friday ✨ New post on the blog, link in bio ✨ Have yourself a spooky Wednesday 🖤 Intended to be part of a 47-statue funeral monument for Pope Julius II that was never completed, Michelangelo's Moses became the centerpiece for this monument in San Pietro in Vincoli instead. Located on the Oppian Hill, just a short distance from the Colosseum, San Pietro in Vincoli (Saint Peter in Chains) was built to house the relics of the chains that purportedly once bound Saint Peter while imprisoned in Jerusalem ⛓️

Hello!

My name is Jessica and I live in Spain. I’m obsessed with dogs (this is important) and have a tendency to take way too many pictures when I travel (which doesn’t happen often enough). I like cold weather, morning light, and empty museums.
