Something Beautiful

El Museo del Barrio

My visit to the Museo del Barrio was extremely brief, as most of it was closed due to exhibition setup. The only section that was open was this exhibition, titled Ocama Aracoel. It was the last part of what had been a larger exhibition titled Something Beautiful: Reframing La Colección, which sought to reexamine the museum’s own permanent collections.

Ocama Aracoel focused on objects from the Taíno culture, whose people have inhabited the Caribbean for millennia, and the impact it has had on subsequent generations of artists and creators.
