A Gourd Apple

Located near the city of Peabody, and just a short drive from Salem, Brooksby Farm was our chosen place to participate in the autumnal tradition of apple picking. I had never done this before in my life, but getting to walk around in weather this beautiful, surrounded by this gorgeous foliage, hooked me instantly. The apple gruyere pie we later made with our gathered treasure was just the icing on the cake, really (icing on the pie? Never mind).

During autumn, Brooksby Farm also sells apple cider and apple doughnuts, both of which I tried for the first time and absolutely fell in love with. We did also get some fresh gourds to take home to carve, and while we participated in neither of these, they apparently also have a Fall Fairytale Trail and hayrides. It’s always good to have a reason to come back.

Have you been apple or pumpkin picking?
